COOL WATER Lark Turquoise 40″x 52″
I found 24 of these blocks made in Amy Butler’s Lark fabric. The blocks are the 9″ COOL WATER and BRIDES DREAM. It looks like I used 8 fat quarters, and since we get the equivalent of 3 blocks from each fat quarter, I had sewn 24 blocks. I can see why I didn’t go any further with the blocks. They are very busy, and sewn together would klunk. They are very fun and pretty though, so I though I would try some lattice variations with 12 blocks each and make two quilts. For the first one here I added 3″ lattice on two adjacent sides, like Tricia’s Salt Water Taffy charm square pattern. You get a nice jumbled effect when you rotate the blocks. More turquoise for the border, and we get the effect of the blocks floating around.
