Lady Taylor –

– and Folklore one of our many patterns that use my 5″x 9 1/2″ slice.  The slices are built like bricks around a center square.  The Lady Taylor pattern calls for 12 Fat Quarters and makes alternating blocks of different colors.   The Folklore pattern is the same block, but uses just 6 fabrics and makes 6 blocks all the same.  This quilt that Dorothy made is a cross between the two plans.  She had 6 fabrics, but wanted a bigger quilt, so cut double of the pieces called for in Folklore, and made the 12 blocks like Lady Taylor.  A nice big twin quilt resulted here.
